2026 Goals

This evening I was reviewing the 2025 stats for The Story Cellar. Just saying that makes me feel like I should be chewing a pen while wearing a green visor and punching in numbers on an old calculator.

The Story Cellar opened in July and from then until December was open 12 times. Within those 12 times, I sold 48 books. That’s an average of 4 books per visit. Maths might never have been my strong subject, but even I didn’t need a calculator for that one.

However, if I then factor in the three occasions when no sales were made, I’m looking at 5.3 books per visit. Which is a wonderful number, I’d love to see the person who is going to buy 0.3 of a book?

Which brings me to the 2026 goals.

Since I was only open for 6 months last year and plan to be open for the full 12 months this year (unless of course the world implodes which seems to be an actual possibility at the moment), I should sell at least double the amount of books that I sold last year. That would be 96 books (didn’t need a calculator for that one either). Let’s just make it an even 100.

So 2026 goal: sell 100 books.

On another note, if I could sell an average of 4 – 5 books every day plus all the other things I have planned, The Story Cellar might actually work. One day.

Another 2026 goal: get closer to that dream.
